Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Kappa Chapter welcomes you to our website. For over 40 years, we have continued a legacy of "Service to All Mankind" on the campus of UNC Charlotte. We are dedicated to addressing the needs of our campus and the Charlotte community. Since 1976, we have served as role models for girls and young women. We hope that this website provides you with any and all information to learn about us and support us with our programs and service events.

Our Mission

Alpha Kappa Alpha's mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship amongst college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of "Service to All Mankind."

Our Vision

 

As Alpha Kappa Alpha has grown, it has maintained its focus in two key arenas: the lifelong personal and professional development of each of its members; and galvanizing its membership into an organization of respected power and influence, consistently at the forefront of effective advocacy and social change that results in equality and equity for all citizens of the world.

We welcome you to our website. Please explore and learn about our phenomenal history and achievements. Founded in 1908 as the first Black Greek-lettered organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has stood on the pillars of sisterhood, scholarship, and service to all mankind. As we welcome our 45th year, Kappa Kappa continues to maintain its legacy of leadership, empowerment, and service on and off the campus of UNC-Charlotte. Women of Kappa Kappa hold high scholastic and ethical standards and work with sincerity and integrity. Kappa Kappa hosts substantial programs and activities for the UNC-Charlotte population and seeks to encourage and empower all. As campus leaders, we simply remember this simple fact, “Life is for service.”
